Someone once asked me which muppet I would I be and my answer was Fozzie bear. I’m not sure why but it just felt right. (who would you be?) And I got my nails did yesterday (and just to be kicky I added a 10 minutes massage which was totally worth the $12) in the perfect shade for New Years Eve. I selected a festive glittery sparkle shade and it turns out the name of said color is: Warm & Fozzie (some sort of tie in with the new Muppets movie). Isn’t that a fun full circle turn of events? Anyways, I love it and I think you should run out and get it on your nails just as quick as you can. And have a fantastic New Years while you’re at it, my friends. Bring on 2012 and let’s kick it’s ass.

Hope y’all had a fantastic long weekend filled with family and friends and fun and festive holiday good times. I had a great Christmas. I got way too many presents considering I’m an adult lady but that’s just the kind of family I have. I got an iPad and I’m pretty excited about this new iPad having me. She is somehow cooler and more connected. Thanks Apple!

On a semi-related note: I’m slightly obsessed with the Camp Socks from JCrew. They are thick and warm and cozy and perfect for winter time. I gave them away to several of my favorite ladies for Christmas. Because is there a greater gift in the world than warm, cozy feet? I say, no.

Greetings from Atlanta, my darlings. All is well here, prepping for Christmas and having fun with some of my favorite people in the world. I love love love peanut brittle. But I’ve never made it. Of course that’s all about to change because I am going to attempt some holiday brittle making this week. Things are getting pretty exciting around here, dudes. The question is; traditional peanut or something more unique? Have y’all ever made brittle? Any tips for a newbie?

My dears, I hope you had lovely weekends. I certainly did. Lots of holiday-style festivity and perhaps a few (too many) libations. But it’s sort of the season for that isn’t it? Well that’s my rationalization at least. On Friday night I went to a Christmas pop sing sing-a-long that was really kind of awesome. There was a big monitor that played old and cheesy holiday videos (and showed the lyrics karaoke style) so everyone just sang their little hearts out. Plus beers. There were tons of songs but the big ending number was, of course, this one. Is there anything more perfectly cheesy? And I love this song and everyone can just deal with it. What about y’all? Any faves?

Starting my Christmas List

I wrapped my first couple of presents last night. So it’s official-ish. I haven’t really done much shopping and I probably won’t do too much, I’m aiming for a low key Christmas. BUT that doesn’t mean I don’t have a few items on my own personal Christmas list. Like this insanely cute iPad case. Oh yeah, and there’s also the small little detail of the actual iPad to go inside of it. No biggie. And what do y’all want this year?

I wanted to get a tiny Christmas tree but the littlest baby ones were still $50 by my house and I just couldn’t legitimize the purchase. I never decorate too much because I usually head home to ATL for at least a week or two. And let’s be honest, I’d rather blow that cash at JCrew. That’s just me. But don’t worry, I procured a wreath for my door AND a poinsettia. So it’s pretty festive around here, friends. Pretty festive, indeed. Have you decorated yet?

Holiday Cards: REVEALED

Alright, remember the holiday cards I mentioned ordering? Well, it’s time for the big reveal. Pretty exciting stuff, huh? Without further ado, here are the holiday cards I designed through Pinhole Press.

And those of you who know me or have been reading for awhile may recognize this expression as my go-to photo face. See, I told you I wasn’t going to take myself too seriously. And here’s a season tip from me: order Happy New Year cards in lieu of Christmas/Holiday. There are two reasons for this. One, EVERYONE celebrates the New Year, right? And two, you don’t have to go into crazy stress mode trying to get them out in Mid-December while you’re also trying to shop and decorate and go to tons of parties. By my calculations you can wish someone a “happy new year” through at least January 7th which means you can put these bad boys into the mail by like the 28th and be totally fine. That’s just my two cents. Thanks again to Pinhole Press for the festive cards!

Thanksgiving Hangover

Alright, the holiday season officially begins after Thanksgiving. I mean that’s kind of the unwritten rule, right? Are y’all ready? I’m still dumbfounded that November is about to end. WHERE IS THE TIME GOING?! I hope your holiday weekends were fantastic. I’m suffering from the post-holiday blues. I hate when the fun has to end. My holiday included lots of quality time with some of my favorite people and of course, lots of food. We cooked at my apartment and since there were only four of us we tried to keep the spread under control. Of course we still made way too much and I still ate like it was my job. But that’s such a crucial part of Thanksgiving, don’t you agree?
