These are my newest shoe acquisition. No, your eyes do not deceive you: these are in fact the hottest shoes that ever existed. I never knew I needed hot pink, suede, platform wedges but now I can’t imagine my world without them. And the best part is they are even more awesome in person. I picked these babies up at Aldo and I have to tell you they are oddly but perfectly comfortable. There are few things better than a sexy pair of shoes, don’t you agree?
p.s. I’m not one to miss an opportunity to use a Sixteen Candles reference. That’s just the kind of gal I am.

I just love old things. Sorry, but I do. And I just stumbled onto this lovely little etsy shop and I kind of wanted to buy outtheir entire stock. Here’s a few highlights. And I know what you’re thinking so don’t even say it. I just HAVE to purchase that A drum don’t I? IT would be a crime not to buy that beauty.

A Good Ol’ Fashioned Dress Harvest

My closet was making me sad the other day. My dress collection is faltering a bit and I really do enjoy having a multitude of dress options. So I hit ModCloth today for a good ol’ fashioned dress harvest. A dress harvest is when you order a bunch of dresses (and charge waaaaay too much on your credit card) so you can try them all on at home and send back the ones that don’t work. So I ordered like 8 dresses today. My excuse is I’m dating and need an arsenal of cute dresses at the ready. That’s fair, right? Below you’ll find a few of the lovely numbers that are on their way to me as we speak. Here’s to hoping their cuteness translates to real life.

Dress You Up

Recently I’ve posted several pics of me wearing this cute dress (here, here and here). It’s one of those dresses that random strangers stop me to compliment. And since I’m single and on the market again I should mention it is the perfect date dress. I’ve gotten several inquiries here about where said dress came from so I figured I’d share the love: it’s the Unconditional Osier Dress from (where else?) Anthropologie.

Holiday Cards

*WARNING THIS IS THE FIRST HOLIDAY/HOLIDAY RELATED POST OF THE YEAR (Sorry it’s before Thanksgiving)*

I’m sure many of you are familiar with Pinhole Press. They offer so many simple and well-designed customizable paper goods. And it’s not just cards you know? They have tons of other cool things like wine labels and notepads. The look is pretty modern and fresh which is nice in a world of overly designed and downright cheesy holiday cards. So when the lovely people from Pinhole Press offered to let me explore their site and pick some holiday cards for myself, I jumped at the opportunity. Well, that’s not exactly true. I struggled with it a bit, only because doing a holiday photo card with a picture of just me all by myself seemed a bit odd. I’d never seen one before and it all felt very Sex in the City when Carrie registers at Manolo Blahnik. Maybe it was just too weird. But then I thought, sure I’m single and without child and that’s fine. In fact, that’s terrific because it’s where I am. And I’m happy and I definitely still want to send out festive holiday greetings to all my favorite peeps. So, at the risk of being weirdo single lady on a holiday card, I’m going for it. One holiday card starring yours truly coming right up.

I won’t reveal the design I selected yet. But I can’t recommend Pinhole Press enough. The site is easy to navigate and there are tons of choices. Plus if you’re indecisive (ahem) you can upload different photos and try a bunch of different layouts before making a decision. And the site will save them all for you in case you want to go away and come back with fresh eyes. The hardest part for this lady (who may suffer from a tiiiiiny case of vanity) was selecting the picture. Ultimately, I decided NOT to take myself too seriously. Which probably doesn’t surprise you.

A New Coat

Growing up in Atlanta and going to college in Texas I wasn’t too familiar with the concept of “winter.” But after seven years up here I know it all too well. I like to have three levels of coats. Level 1 is like a jean jacket or spring trench, something lightweight for the transitional times. Level 3 is a big, ugly puffy coat for when everything is terrible. And level 2 is somewhere between those. I need to procure a new level 2 coat soon. (I actually need a new level 3 coat also but those are boring to talk about because of their purely functional nature). Luckily, it hasn’t been super nightmarishly freezing… yet. But I think today is going to be a doozie. So I’m starting to strategize this most crucial purchase. I’ve been eyeing these skirted numbers. The cut seems so flattering and feminine. Maybe I’ll go find some to try on this weekend. What do you have on tap? I actually have to work for some of the weekend, but that’s okay. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I have a festive group of out of town visitors headed this way. That’s fun. Have a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you on the other side. xo

Paper Crush: Farewell Paperie

I first met Lisa and Jen, the lovely ladies behind Farewell Paperie, last March at my friend Molly‘s wedding. We were seated at the same table and immediately had tons to talk about. Besides a love of all things design and paper related, we also share a common background in advertising. Needless to say, we hit it off immediately. And then last week I received this adorable card in the mail from Jen congratulating me on the pounds that I’ve recently shed. It was such a fantastically sweet gesture. Don’t you just love those little surprises that catch you off guard and make you smile? So thank you, Jen. I’m thinking this is a gentle nudge from the universe reminding me (and by proxy all of you) to send a little card to someone who doesn’t expect it. Let’s all do it, shall we? I fancy myself to be sort of a sassy gal so this card speak to me. Plus I love the purple ink with the mint envelope.
