Have I mentioned that in my (almost) eight years as a New Yorker I’ve moved about 6 times. Kind of insane, no? But like clockwork around a year and a half I start to get that itch. And wouldn’t you know it, here it is. I start craving a new place, a new area and perhaps most importantly, a new blank canvas to make my own. I think that’s what I love the most. So in lieu of having a whole new place to Amy-fy, I’ve decided I need to make some small changes around here to keep things fresh and interesting. I’m thinking of investing in a new piece of art, painting my old kitchen table and I’m going to get a new comforter cover.

I can’t be the only one who loves Urban Outfitters cheapish duvets, right? Yes, that store makes me feel a little bit like an old lady. But it’s hard to argue with their immense collection of festive duvets. Bold and bright, which is exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for.

Touch of Grey

In the last couple of years grey has become one of my favorite colors. It’s my go-to wardrobe neutral (black is so blah) and I even painted my bedroom grey (and I effing love it). Here’s some touches of grey that are speaking to me. p.s. is it grey or gray? I’m a 33 year old, college edumacated lady and I still haven’t figured that one out.

Girl, Put Your Records On

So my newest obsession is that I’ve decided I absolutely have to get a record player. Like, yesterday. Why you ask? Oh, there are many reasons:
1. I’ll instantly be a cooler and better person (obvie).
2. I happen to love old shit.
3. Music sounds better on vinyl.
4. Records are just awesome (tactile, sizable, better/original album art).
5. I’m a collector at heart so the possibility of having a new thing to collect makes my heart sing.
6. I’ll get to dig around old record stores/scour ebay (!!).
7. I’ll have a chance to start appreciating albums in their entirety instead of just single songs here and there.

These are my newest shoe acquisition. No, your eyes do not deceive you: these are in fact the hottest shoes that ever existed. I never knew I needed hot pink, suede, platform wedges but now I can’t imagine my world without them. And the best part is they are even more awesome in person. I picked these babies up at Aldo and I have to tell you they are oddly but perfectly comfortable. There are few things better than a sexy pair of shoes, don’t you agree?
p.s. I’m not one to miss an opportunity to use a Sixteen Candles reference. That’s just the kind of gal I am.

I just love old things. Sorry, but I do. And I just stumbled onto this lovely little etsy shop and I kind of wanted to buy outtheir entire stock. Here’s a few highlights. And I know what you’re thinking so don’t even say it. I just HAVE to purchase that A drum don’t I? IT would be a crime not to buy that beauty.

A Good Ol’ Fashioned Dress Harvest

My closet was making me sad the other day. My dress collection is faltering a bit and I really do enjoy having a multitude of dress options. So I hit ModCloth today for a good ol’ fashioned dress harvest. A dress harvest is when you order a bunch of dresses (and charge waaaaay too much on your credit card) so you can try them all on at home and send back the ones that don’t work. So I ordered like 8 dresses today. My excuse is I’m dating and need an arsenal of cute dresses at the ready. That’s fair, right? Below you’ll find a few of the lovely numbers that are on their way to me as we speak. Here’s to hoping their cuteness translates to real life.

Dress You Up

Recently I’ve posted several pics of me wearing this cute dress (here, here and here). It’s one of those dresses that random strangers stop me to compliment. And since I’m single and on the market again I should mention it is the perfect date dress. I’ve gotten several inquiries here about where said dress came from so I figured I’d share the love: it’s the Unconditional Osier Dress from (where else?) Anthropologie.
