I have a wee addiction to art from home state. And I just might have to add this print (sent to me by a good pal) to my ever-growing collection. I’m heading back to NYC this morning so for now, I’ll just bask in my post-Georgia-visit glow. There’s just something about being home. It’s good for the soul. It must be because you get to see all of your favorite people and fill up on all the love and goodness that only they give you. Or maybe it’s the Chick-fil-a.

Hip hip hooray! I’m leaving tomorrow afternoon for almost a whole week in my sweet Atlanta. And I have a weekend of epic proportions on the horizon. It’s my sister’s bachelorette party. No strippers, or bar hopping or penis straws for us. A group of lovely ladies are all heading up to my step mom’s (insanely awesome) lake house for two days and two nights of drinking, eating, sunning, swimming and maybe a dance party or two. All in honor of my best friend, my lil’ sis. I’m very excited and I see quite a few cocktails in my future. Here’s the ridiculous invite I made, because I love nothing more than making ridiculous things. p.s. I may look down on penis straws. But I am not above a penis cake and we will be having one. Around these parts I’ve never been quiet about my devotion to baseball and more specifically to the Atlanta Braves. And today is Opening Day! I’m headed to Citi Field to see my beloved Braves play the Mets. I couldn’t be more excited. Everything is possible at the beginning of baseball season. The failings and follies of last year are forgotten and everyone gets a clean slate and thinks “this could be our year.” There’s something so pure about that yearly renewed optimism. And in addition to marking baseball’s return to my life, Opening Day also unofficially means warm weather and summer (a.k.a. my favorite time of year) aren’t far behind. Yahoo, hot dogs and beers all around!

Sometimes you need to get on a plane and fly to warm and sunny Scottsdale, Arizona to have a relaxing long weekend of pool time, laughing, shopping and wine with one of your best friends in the entire world. And friends, this is one of those times. I’m sneaking away for the next few days for some much needed quality girlfriend time. I’ll be back here on Tuesday ready to hug it out with each and every one of you. Until then, have a perfect weekend. xo

I’m back from my second year at Alt Summit. And (no surprises here) it was an awesome time. It’s hard to explain what those four days are like. It’s exciting, overwhelming, exhausting, informative, terrifying, entertaining and tons of fun. It always flies by and before you know it you’re back in the real world missing all the fun and festivity and most importantly the amazing pals both old and new. Morning friends! I’m headed to Salt Lake City for Alt Summit which is also known as blogger’s summer camp. Alright, the first week of 2012 is all done. I hope yours was just fantastic. I’m heading to a new freelance gig today. I’m due up, I haven’t worked in like a month. Time to see if this old brain of mine still works. I’m hoping it does. What do you have on tap for the weekend? I’ve got lots of fun lined up, per us. And it all starts tonight with some much needed Mexican food and margaritas. The perfect thing to enjoy on a January night.

One of my favorite blog pals Capree who I met at Alt last year shared this print by Matthew Kavan Brooks (on Society 6) on her blog, MAIYA. I am completely obsessed with it. I don’t think it would be possible for me to love it any more. And guess what? Alt Summit is right around the corner.
