What’s Cookin’

I always wanted to try making caramels and this year I finally did it. I tried Martha Stewart’s Gingerbread Caramels when Susan Brinson brought them to the blogger’s dessert party I co-hosted last year. It’s an involved process and I was little stressed about the endeavor. But I’m happy to report they are effing delicious. The gingerbreadiness is perfect for the season and make a lovely gift for just about anyone. Including yours truly since I can’t stop eating the stupid (amazing) things.

p.s. This recipe makes a shit ton of caramels so be warned: you’ll be hand wrapping those babies for a good, long time.
p.p.s. Aren’t gifts you can eat the best ones, anyways?

@Karen – In theory, yes. But I can’t guarantee that there will be any actual leftovers.

Wrapping them is a pain. I found these little gold wrappers at the NY Cake Store and they cut the time down so much, I will be using that trick in the future. So glad they turned out! :)
