Blog After Life

Posted on | July 24, 2012 | 10 Comments

So here I am. I’m back! It’s really me. And let me tell you I am sorry for my absence. The dust has finally sort of settled after all my travels and I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer here in good ol’ NYC. I have been thinking about this blog and what I want to do with it for a long time now. And this unintentional break sort of solidified something for me. I need to scale back on my blogging. I think what I share with you here needs to be about quality and not quantity for now. So this means I will be posting less. I’m going to keep it at least three days a week but probably not five which is what I have been doing for the last 2-3 years. It can be tiring, and sometimes it feels forced.

I need to figure out where I want to take this here blog and part of me thinks taking a small step away will help me find some answers. One of my most dedicated readers and favorite internet pals Nicole recently shared her motto of “blog after life” with me. And it struck a chord. I need to focus on just living right now. And then I’ll come back and tell you all about it.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting and generally rooting for me. It means more than you’ll ever know. I love each of you, a whole bunch.

xo,

Amy

p.s. back tomorrow to finally start telling you all about Costa Rica

A big decision that sounds like it was thoughtfully made. You have done a wonderful job with your blog but being willing to change and adapt when needed is important. Enjoy life now. I know your readers will enjoy your modified blog as it unfolds. You are the best!!

Quality wins over quantity any day – although I’ve always thought your posts were thoughful, funny AND quality. Hope to spend some of that time with you soon, lady!

YOU’RE BACK! Epic win for the internetz. Yours is the only blog I read with regularity so I am glad you are still going to post, if less frequently. Can’t wait to read about costa rica and (maybe someday?) the wedding! xo

Oh, Amy. I’m tickled by reading that.

First, I’m stoked for you. STOKED. I think this sounds like just the right move for you. STOKED.

Also, I’m in the process of posting a very-almost-not-really the same kind of post on my nearly-abandoned site today.

Big high fives! You’re one of my favorites, too :)
