Summertime

Oh, New York City in the summer. There is nothing like it.

I tried (and failed) to go see the Alabama Shakes play Central Park yesterday. Like many free events in New York City, it was completely packed and we should have gotten there five hours early. But I’ve been listening to them for awhile and Hold On feels like a great summer anthem. You know the kind. NPR put together an awesome list of the quintessential summer songs all the way from 1962 to today. I love a good list and there are some great ones on here. I think for me, the songs from my teenage and college summers bring back the most memories (here’s two purrrfect examples). And what about you? Any favorite summer songs spring to mind?

I love that song by Len, but nobody else seems to know it. Good choice. x
