tomato-y

Hope you had a fantastic weekend. Mine was nice and quiet and included dinner here, lots of summer-y produce (including the tomatoes pictured below) and a new basket for my bike followed by a nice, long ride along the Hudson. I got no complaints. And while these pretty tomatoes were sitting on my kitchen counter I couldn’t help but notice (that with the addition of craft paper) they were a perfect representation of my all-time favorite color scheme; red, yellow, minty green and craft paper brown. I love you guys, because you totally don’t think it’s weird to have an all-time favorite color scheme. Why, you probably have one or two of you own. Please share.

Are those yellow pear tomatoes? My dad grew them in his backyard for years. They are my absolute favorite. I’d stand out there and eat them off the plant still warm!

My favorite color scheme: Aqua blue, spring green, white, and a nice neutral tan. Those tomatoes look spectacular!

Since we’re heading into fall, at least the retailers are, lets go with a rusty orange, purple and gold.

in the fall/winter, i tend to go for eggplant purple, mustard yellow, cobalt blue and other jewel tones. in warmer weather i adore watermelon red/pink, a cheery yellow, robin’s egg blue, stone grey. i’m always a fan of B&W, too, anytime of year.

I planted 75 tomato plants this year (mostly San Marzano for making sauce, etc., but also some grape, cherry and heirloom varieties). They are almost ready to pick!
I think my favorite color scheme is probably blue (and color) and white/cream. I’ve used that scheme in a lot of my house, and find I wear some variation of that every day.
