Eight Steps to Get Over Post-Alt Summit Depression

Posted on | January 24, 2011 | 54 Comments

Well, I got back late last night from a spectacular 5 days at Alt Summit. What a terrible crash, though. My pal Kelly was exactly right. It was totally like going to blogger’s summer camp! And with that came the inevitable depressing goodbyes and realization that all the fun had to come to an end (not to mention, the painful return to the real world). And even sadder, we have to wait a whole year (wha?) until we can do it all again. So my darlings, here are some steps to help you get over that post-Alt heartbreak. I love you all, and can’t wait to see you back in Salt Lake City next year. Thanks for all the laughs, conversations and most importantly, the inspiration. XO

Loved it!! I am going to have to do all of these things (sans the marriage proposal, as I am not a bigamist, though DJ Spooky would make a great second husband). I don’t think we met this year, hopefully next! :)

What a great post! I’m at the airport now headed home & as much as I’m ready to be back home, I do feel a little sad that alt is over :( I guess it’s true that all good things come to an end… but at least like you said we have next year to look forward to :)

Ha! This is classic. Experienced a bit of culture shock upon returning to NYC. After running around the Grand like Eloise at The Plaza for four days, I too am having serious Alt withdrawls!

It was so great to meet you.

So, DJ Spooky and I hung out some and I know for a fact that he’s single. He’s really smart and very nice. You’re in NYC, yes? When I’m there this summer, I’ll have a dinner party and invite you both. I’ll even set the mood and throw Some Enchanted Evening on the stereo. ;-)

And I ADORE this list of yours. It’s so funny and so exactly what I’ll be doing. Except staring out the window in the rain, because I’m in San Diego and we have no rain here.
