Yesterday would have been my older sister Michelle’s 41st birthday. She passed away almost 10 years ago and while that overwhelming feeling of loss is now something I just live with day in and day out, it doesn’t get any easier. But you do get more used to it. One of the hardest parts of yesterday was not being able to be with my family. The Braves did clinch the wild card spot so that was one bit of goodness in an otherwise pretty hard and sad day. Michelle was a huge Braves fan and she would have been so excited to see them make it to post season so there was something very poetic that.
So here’s one of my favorite pictures of my sisters and I. In fact I have a big version of it that I hope to find a spot for in my new place. We’re so joyful and happy (that’s a tiny me in the middle). I miss them both every minute of every day.
I hope your Mondays aren’t too terrible. I for one am needing some coffee like a crackhead needs crack. Until tomorrow…

I am so sorry, Honey. She was the epitome of what it meant to see a “cool big sister” and I felt lucky to be in her orbit when I was around. I am so sorry and hope you all are taking care of each other and yourselves. There are so many people who love all of you Ferg-dorn-stleys.

I’m so sorry to hear – this is a lovely tribute to her. I never had an older sister (I’m the eldest) though I have younger siblings I adore – there’s *nothing* like a great sister. I hope you’ll take good care this week especially. xo

I love that photo more than words could ever express. Sisters are the greatest and I am so blessed to have you as mine. And I was blessed with Michelle too. I miss her everyday.

Loss is never easy. My father passed 10 years ago and I still think of him in some way every single day. Puts a smile on my face, but it took years for me to feel this way.

I always loved that photo – my three girls, a swimming pool and all is right in the world. I miss Michelle so very much but I know how blessed I was to have all three of you as my daughters and how lucky I am to still have you and Margaret with me.
