So long as you are happy stacking just 3 to 4 normal sized cookbooks per shelf you should be ok..more than that and they will not hold up. They can only hold so much weight. Cookbooks are heavy. I bought them imagining a stack of cookbooks on a different wall and they just didn't work out because my cookbooks are so big and heavy. Hope this helps with your decision making.
