Treasure Hunt: Tea Kettles

Posted on | January 15, 2009 | 6 Comments

Recently, I’ve been drinking tea a lot more. I’ve always been an iced tea kind of gal but hot tea was never really my thing. I’m pretty much a coffee addict so I’ll never switch to a first-thing-in-the-morn-cup-of-tea but I like the idea of tea on a lazy weekend afternoon or an after dinner but before bed ritual. My current tea kettle is near and dear to my heart but I think it’s a little tired so I’m looking for an update. May I present my most newest treasure hunt; tea kettles.

Here’s where to find this treasure trove of tea kettles
1. KitchenAid 2 Qt Tea Kettle – Amazon.com – $49.95
2. KitchenAid 2 Qt Porcelain Tea Kettle – Bed Bath & Beyond – $49.99
3. Chantal Copper Plated 1-4/5-Qt Classic Tea Kettle – Amazon.com – $132.29 (yikes!)
4. Rachael Ray Green Tea Kettle – Cooking.com – $39.95

I am in love with number 7. I love that color. Remember the purse I bought in that color when we worked at Chiat? I still carry it.

I’ve had a LeCreuset whistler for years. You can only fill it to the bottom of the spout or it shoots water out when it whistles. And it’s sustained some chips and dents from falling objects and run-ins with other cast iron cookware. It’s a beautiful red, but I don’t know if I will buy another. I love the traditional look of it though.

Hello! I adore the original silver-colored one you had in the google images that directed me to this page…what was originally #4 on your list. Please, do you know where to find that? I have one but need to replace it and can’t find it anywhere!
